COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This French conversational intermediate group course is designed for people with a fair knowledge of French who want to hone their speaking and reading skills while gaining a better understanding of some French cultural aspects.
Recommended level:
Beginner Levels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) or similar completed. You have already learned French prior to this course and are able to discuss familiar topics.
Take this French Test to know your level.
*Only register to this class if you score over 13.
What will I learn?:
This class will focus on:
- Reading and discussing articles about diverse topics.
- Gaining confidence to interact with native French speakers in most situations that come up when traveling in French-speaking countries.
- Being able to narrate an event, an experience, or a dream;
- Describing a desire or goal, and outlining reasons or explanations behind a project or idea.
- Review of French tenses ( past, future, conditional,…) and grammar exercises to be done as homework.

- 4 classes in total.
- We will confirm the class once we have a minimum of 3 students registered.
- Please note that if we only have 2 students registered each class is 60 minutes (instead of 90 minutes)

I started my French-Learning journey with Learn French in Vancouver and I have no doubt but to recommend this centre. Class with Coralie is always cheerful. Coralie always welcomes students, tries to engage all the classmates during class. Even a student like me with zero level French can enjoy a lot for the last 8 weeks of beginner course. Attended private zoom classes with Coralie who has been amazing! Originally applied for level 3 group classes but was recommended to do private classes which has been a great help so far! Coralie knew where to get started on the learning and tailor it to my needs.Would recommend this to anyone learning french from scratch or to just improve their knowledge of it!

I've been very pleased with my one-on-one conversation classes. My instructor Coralie makes useful corrections and suggestions to my spoken French, and has useful ideas for improving comprehension. All this is done in the course of friendly, casual conversation about subjects of mutual interest. My comfort level in French has notably increased.

I was a complete novice when I started French class with Coralie. After only a few weeks I feel like I know hundreds of vocabulary words and really have a strong grasp of French conjugation. Coralie was super efficient in class and gave us so much useful information and tips on how to speak French. I am going to continue taking French class here for many months to come as I believe this is a real path to fluency!

I have recently completed a series of Beginner Level 1 + 2 private French lessons with Lola. She is a wonderful teacher!. Due to the pandemic, Lola and I use ZOOM for my weekly lesson. She is a very warm person who makes learning pleasant and safe. Lola clearly knows her subject very well and has a gift for simplifying things. The lessons are practical and Lola is very knowledgeable and clear. I highly recommend Lola as a French teacher. I make these observations after teaching for many years myself. I am a lawyer who served for approximately a decade as an adjunct professor of law in the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia, and roughly 25 years as a lecturer with UBC’s Sauder School of Business.

I recently started private French classes with Coralie and all I can say is she is terrific from getting the best out of you whilst also making it fun and enjoyable at the same time. This is first time I can say I really look forward to my French classes now having joined this school, only regret is I didn't do it sooner. I highly recommend Coralie or any tutor of the learn French in Vancouver team as they are awesome and have courses to suit everyone.

I've been looking for a french school like this for so long. I've done little bits of french here and there, but always felt underwhelmed and like my teachers weren't really invested in my success. I just completed the level 1-4 consolidation course with Coralie, and for the first time I feel like I'm actually on the road to becoming fluent if I keep putting in the effort. Lea was also a huge help in ensuring that I was taking the right level for my ability from the beginning. Can't say enough good things about this school, and i'm looking forward to the next level!

I have always wanted to learn French because I work in an industry where it is widely used. I speak other languages so I hoped it would be easier to learn another one. Lola is an excellent teacher! I’m currently taking French courses with Lola at Learn French and she is a great teacher! She’s extremely knowledgeable and is able to answer any questions I have. She is also very patient and encouraging when I make mistakes. She tailors the lessons to what am I interested in which makes it easier to practice speaking in French. I would highly recommend taking classes with Lola!

I love my classes; Lea and Lola ( my teacher) are very professional and understanding. I taught English as a language for 5 years so I can be pretty annoying and demanding in terms of the material and structure and have no complains. They are effective and fun. I would recommend them highly; I have taken group and private lessons and both I've enjoyed greatly.

Learn French in Vancouver provides highly accessible and rewarding French learning experiences. After my course, I feel confident to read, write and speak beginner levels of French, a result of patient teaching, thorough tutor feedback and the personalized approach of the programme. Coralie is one of the best tutors I have come across - she is extremely patient, well paced and attentive to detail, fielding challenging questions that are common to new language learners. Great experience so far. I'm looking forward to continuing with conversation following the completion of all the lessons. So far I have done half in person with Lea and half via Skype (due to COVID19) with Coralie. Both teachers were fantastic! I enrolled a beginner 1+2 course to improve my French. The teacher Prajwal was so nice, very professional and so enthusiastic at teaching! The group was small enough so we had plenty of time to practice the language in class. With the course, I gained confidence and motivation to keep learning French 🙂. I just completed a course and had an absolutely amazing experience learning with Lea. I had some experience with French in the past, but I learned so much in just 4 classes, but more importantly my confidence grew immensely! I feel that Lea tailored her feedback and encouragements to each participant depending on their skill level and improvement. I cannot wait to start the next course! This is the first time I have felt that I might actually be able to become bilingual (with much more practice and classes of course)!

Yasmina is a fantastic teacher - knowledgeable, attentive and patient. She listens to the needs of his students, and draws from her extensive teaching experience to develop a tailored, very effective style.During private lessons, we focus on my everyday speaking and listening skills through casual conversation. Occasionally, we shift to traditional grammar drills. This method is effective and fun for me - times slips by during our meetings. In her group classes, she follows a more structured, yet still very engaging teaching system. They provided me with valuable grammar practice, since it's the most challenging aspect of French for me (as I suspect it is for many others).I am really satisfied with our progress so far. I am constantly getting better at expressing myself and understanding phrases in French TV shows or movies. Yasmina has made learning my 3rd language very fun and rewarding.Merci, Yasmina!
