LEA - Learn French in Vancouver

Lea

Lea was born in Tours, France, a city famed for its Loire Valley castles. Growing up in a family that hosted international students, she was inspired to one day open her own French language school.

After earning a Master’s in International Business, Lea moved to Australia in 2010 and worked for Atout France, promoting French destinations globally. During this time, she enjoyed showcasing the beauty of destinations like Paris, the French Riviera and Tahiti.

In 2017, Lea moved to Canada. After completing the DAEFLE diploma with CNED and the Alliance Française de Paris, she created the “French Transformation” program and began teaching French to Canadian and international students in Vancouver.

What started as a passion project quickly grew into a reputable school, with a team of fantastic French teachers and over 4,000 students having learned French at ‘Learn French in Vancouver,’ including many who have prepared for the TEF exam to earn extra points towards Canadian residency.

Aurelie

Aurélie (also known as Lily) is from Chantilly, a charming town north of Paris, world-famous for its delicious Chantilly whipped cream. At the age of 16, she moved with her family to Spain, where her passion for foreign languages and travel truly began.

After graduating from law school, Aurélie chose to follow her love for exploration and went on to discover many countries, including Japan, New Zealand, Australia, and Mexico. This journey eventually led her to Vancouver, Canada.

Today, Aurélie plays a key role in shaping the school’s vision and supporting both students and teachers as our Business Director. Her mission is to create high-quality, accessible French programs that build students’ confidence for the TEF and TCF exams and make learning French an enjoyable and rewarding journey.

Aurélie speaks fluent French, English, and Spanish, and is currently learning Italian, Japanese, and Mandarin. Outside of work, she enjoys playing the guitar and sharing her love of French music with our community.

Tasnia

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Tasnia grew up surrounded by a rich mix of languages and dialects, which sparked her early fascination with communication. Educated in English and Turkish schools, she proudly represented her country abroad through Bangla and Turkish music in international events across Turkey and the US. Her French journey began in high school at Alliance Française — the only French language school in Dhaka — where she later founded her school’s first French Club to share her enthusiasm for the language.

In 2017, Tasnia moved to Vancouver to study Chemical and Biological Engineering at UBC. Today, she combines her analytical mindset and project management experience with her love for languages to promote the Francophone community at ‘Learn French‘. Fluent in six languages and always learning more, Tasnia also enjoys reading, reviewing fiction, singing, and exploring South Asian music and dance.

Mai

Originally from a small town just outside of Paris, Mai has always been passionate about languages and cross-cultural experiences. At the age of 20, she followed her love for American English all the way to New York City, where she pursued her studies. After returning to Paris and later relocating to Montréal, Mai recently landed in Vancouver to begin an exciting new chapter with the Learn French in Vancouver team.

For the past eight years, she has coached CEOs, founders, and professionals in both French and American English, preparing them for international life in North America, Europe, and Singapore. Her approach is unique—she’s not a traditional teacher, but a coach who blends language learning with empathy, energy, and a bright, engaging personality.

A solo traveler at heart, Mai has taken over 30 trips around the world and thrives on discovering new cultures. With a Master’s in Political Science and a Bachelor’s in Psychosociology, she brings deep insight into her students’ mindset and motivations.
