We regularly host French events in Vancouver: casual meetups where you can practice your French, meet your teachers, and connect with fellow students in a fun, relaxed setting. All levels are welcome.

From Gastown evenings to beach picnics, gala nights and radio interviews. This is what learning French with us looks like outside the classroom.
Over 40 students and teachers filled our office at L’Atelier for a summer evening of French, from 5 to 8 PM. Students met their teachers outside the classroom, made new friends, and practiced their French over snacks and drinks. Three hours flew by, with name tags, conversation and a lot of laughter. We closed the night with a big group photo, French and Canadian flags in hand.
When Radio-Canada calls, you say yes. Our Growth Director Aurélie Halimi joined Mireille Langlois on the Culture et Confiture show to talk about what makes Learn French Canada different, and why we won the Palme Bleue, Entreprise en Croissance. The Surrey City Centre Library hosted us for a free French class, and Surrey showed up. Students tried their first sentences out loud, asked every question they had about the TEF and learning with us, and shared French pastries between exercises. We loved the energy so much that we are planning an in-person space in Surrey soon. À bientôt, Surrey !
A night to remember: Learn French Canada won the Palme Bleue (Entreprise en Croissance) at the CCF de Vancouver’s 40th-anniversary gala at the Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park. The Chamber recognized our growth from a single classroom in 2017 to 4,500+ students across Canada. Léa, Aurélie and Tasnia accepted the award. What a night! Our students gathered at L’Atelier Vancouver in Gastown for an evening of French conversation, laughter, and real connection. From first-time speakers to confident conversationalists, everyone jumped in, practicing with their teachers and meeting classmates from other levels. The best part? Students leaving with new friendships and one question on everyone’s lips: “When’s the next one?” À la prochaine !
A double celebration in February: the official launch of Learn French in Victoria, and an incredible 2025, the year the school grew 3x. We met our TEF students at Café Fantastico, coffee and croissants in hand, practicing French ahead of their exam at Alliance Française the following week. We also set our 2026 vision together with the team.
Our team and teachers came together to celebrate one of France’s most loved traditions: La Galette des Rois. Every January, the French share a puff pastry filled with almond cream. Whoever finds the hidden fève becomes king or queen for the day, paper crown included. Culture, connection, and a little bit of sweetness, the French way.
A refined afternoon tea at the Fairmont to celebrate the people behind our success: our teachers. In 2025, almost 1,000 students trusted our process, many starting from zero, and most reached their goals, passing the TEF and TCF with CLB 5 and CLB 7+. Surrounded by teapots and mini pastries, we toasted the team that makes it all happen.
Our second Calgary event was full of laughter, games, and French practice! Hosted by our amazing teacher Clélia, students gathered at Workhaus Downtown for an evening of language discovery, friendly competition, and good vibes, from an introductory French class to fun group activities. Another great step in growing our Calgary French-learning community!
We officially opened Learn French in Calgary with a warm welcome event at Workhaus Downtown. Students joined us for an afternoon of fun, French practice, and a free introductory class. Everyone left with a mini Eiffel Tower keyring and a clear picture of what starting French with us looks like, whether for career goals, immigration, or personal growth.
Over 40 students gathered at Second Beach for an outdoor French picnic: snacks, drinks, and great vibes with the ocean in the background. With 7 of our teachers present, beginners and advanced students alike found someone to bond with and practice French together. A beautiful mix of community, language, and sunshine!
We hosted a lively French Game Night with over 40 students, with a prize wheel, fun quizzes, and plenty of laughter. The perfect chance to practice French in a relaxed, joyful setting, and to connect with fellow learners while celebrating how far we’ve come together.
To close out an amazing year, we hosted a joyful Christmas event for our students. The evening was filled with delicious pastries, fun activities, and a cozy atmosphere that brought everyone together. A wonderful way to celebrate the holidays while practicing French in a relaxed setting.
Over 30 students came together to celebrate our 6th anniversary: an evening of joy, laughter, and looking back at how it all started. Students shared their experiences preparing for the TEF, we toasted with bubbles and Paris-Brest cakes made by Nawel, and a friendly French quiz crowned the night with prizes for the winners.
We took part in the 2nd edition of Bonjour Business, organized by the Francophone Chamber of Commerce of Vancouver in October 2023. Our students came to visit us and meet other French organizations. A great chance to connect with the francophone community and show what we offer.
After completing the “My French Transformation” program, our students gathered at the iconic La Durée in Vancouver. Networking, celebration, and French patisseries, all over a shared love of the French language.

I attended the first in-person event from Learn French yesterday in Calgary, and it was such a great experience! The teachers, Clelia and Aurelie, were absolutely amazing — incredibly friendly, approachable, patient, and genuinely eager to help everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. They took the time to clearly explain the program and methodology, while making sure every question was answered thoughtfully. They also walked us through the class investment structure and shared some special discounts, which everyone was very excited to hear about. I’m really looking forward to starting my classes and seeing the Learn French Calgary community continue to grow. Excited to meet new people and make new French-speaking friends along the way! 🇫🇷😊
I am extremely satisfied with my French lessons and truly appreciate the quality of teaching. From the very first class, it was clear that Anne is not only knowledgeable but also very passionate about helping students improve. The lessons are always well organized, engaging, and adapted to my level and learning goals. What I value the most is the supportive and comfortable atmosphere during the classes. The teacher is very patient, explains concepts clearly, and always encourages me to speak and practice the language as much as possible. Mistakes are corrected in a constructive and encouraging way, which helps me gain more confidence in speaking French. The classes are dynamic and interesting, with a good balance between conversation, vocabulary, and grammar. I particularly enjoy the discussions, which help me improve my fluency and express myself more naturally. Thanks to these lessons, I genuinely feel that I am making strong progress. I’m currently taking a 6-month French course in an in-person, group setting, and the experience has been excellent. Our teacher, Maï, is thorough and explains concepts clearly, making them easy to understand and apply. I’ve learned a lot so far, especially with pronunciation and basic conversational French. She creates a positive and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable participating and feels heard. I always look forward to class and would highly recommend her course to anyone wanting to learn French.
I had a really great time at the event, especially with the director and my friends. Everyone was very respectful and friendly.
