Twelve months, from bonjour to CLB 7
From the Island, the whole route is online: six months on the language itself, six on the exam, with a checkpoint result partway through.

On the Island, French opens government doors
A public-service town where bilingualism is tested formally, a competitive Express Entry pool, and a class that never depends on the ferry schedule.

A capital built on two languages
Federal roles across the public service test bilingualism through the SLE exam, and Victoria has more of those postings within commuting distance than almost anywhere else in the country. That test rewards the same skills the TEF and TCF do.

Being on the Island does not soften the Express Entry math: everyone in the federal pool competes on the same score. French is one of the few levers still open once your English test results are already in.

Victoria is a public-service city, and bilingualism inside it is not just encouraged, it is examined. Federal positions test French through the SLE, provincial roles increasingly list it as an asset, and the skills that pass either exam overlap heavily with what the TEF and TCF already require.
Our Intermediate program covers SLE-style tasks alongside standard TEF and TCF preparation, so a student aiming at a public-service file is not training for a third, unrelated exam on top of the other two.
