‘Learn French Canada’ Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing ‘Learn French’ to embark on your language learning journey. We are dedicated to providing a comprehensive, engaging, and effective French language education tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. Whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your fluency, our classes are designed to offer a supportive and immersive learning experience including homework and extra resources.



This document outlines the Terms and Conditions that govern your enrollment in our courses, including Small Group and Private Classes. These terms are intended to ensure a clear understanding of our mutual obligations and to facilitate a smooth, productive, and enjoyable learning experience for everyone involved. By enrolling in our classes, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We recommend reading this document carefully to fully understand the policies that apply to your course participation.



Our team is here to support your learning goals, and we believe that with clear expectations, we can achieve great results together.

1. Group Classes Enrollment Terms and Conditions

Cancelation Policy:


By enrolling in our group classes, you agree to these terms and conditions. We look forward to providing an engaging and enriching language learning experience.

  • Process to submit a Cancelation Request within 7 business days of your registration date (Please note that no full refund can be issued once the program has started, as your spot cannot be offered to another student):

– All cancellation requests must be sent via the form on our Contact Us Page

– Upon receiving your request, we will respond with the available options after carefully reviewing your request. Students will have 5 business days to reply and select the option that best suits them. If we do not receive a confirmation within this time frame, the request will be considered void, and the student will no longer be eligible for any of the options.

– Please note that an extra $100 administrative fee will be automatically charged for all cancellation requests to cover processing costs

  • 7+ Business Days Cancelation Notice: Partially refundable.



If a student cancels their enrollment more than 7 business days before the program’s start date. Students are eligible to select one of the following three options:

–  Postpone their French classes to a later starting date valid for a period of 6 months.
– 75% of the value paid to use towards credit for private classes valid for a period of 6 months from the day the option is selected. Due to high demand, private classes can only be held online from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm PST.

– 50% refund of the total paid fees within 5 business days.
Note: Once an option is selected it is final.

  • Less than 7 Business Days Notice: Non refundable.


No refund will be provided for cancellations made within 7 business days of the program’s start date. Due to the limited availability of spots in our small group classes, students are unable to cancel or reschedule their subscriptions once the program has commenced. Students are eligible to select one of the following options:


– Postpone their French classes to a later starting date valid for a period of 6 months.
– 50% of the value paid to use towards credit for private classes valid for a period of 6 months from the day the option is selected.

Due to high demand, private classes can only be held online from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm PST.
Note: Once an option is selected it is final.

  • Once the classes have started: Non refundable.

No refund will be provided for cancellations made once the classes have started. After each class, students are requested to complete mandatory homework in order to make progress and be able to complete each level.


If the students prefer to continue their French learning with a private class format. They will be offered the following option only if they complete and submited all homework on weekly basis on Facebook, Whatsapp or by email to their teacher:


– 50% of the remaining value paid for the group classes not taken to use towards credit for private classes valid for a period of 6 months starting when the option is selected and confirmed by email. Due to high demand, private classes can only be held online from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm.

Note: If the student has not completed 100% of the homework of the classes prior to the request of changing to private format, his request will not be accepted until this condition is completed but the 6 months will start on the day of the request was sent to our school.

  • Request to pause classes:

    While our Terms and Conditions do not allow refunds, we are committed to supporting our students and helping them continue their French learning journey. As part of this commitment, students may request to pause their classes for up to six months.

    To request a pause, students must fill out the form on our Contact Us Page before the desired pause date. The pause will be applied at the level where the student left off.

    When ready to resume, students should notify us by email, and we will inform them of the schedule for the next available class. Students may also choose to rejoin at a lower level if needed, in which case the remaining credit will be applied toward that level.

  • Group Size: Our group classes include a maximum of 16 students. No refund will be provided based on the number of students registered to the course.  
  • Pre-Enrollment Level Assessment: Prospective students are encouraged to take our complimentary French Test to determine their proficiency. Following the test, we invite you to reach out for a free level assessment call to ensure appropriate class placement. We offer you free of charge to take this level assessment call. No refund will be provided for students registering for a lower or higher level course once the class is started.
  • Change of Teacher:
    While we make every effort to maintain consistency with the assigned teacher throughout the duration of the program, students may experience a change of teacher during the course. All of our teachers are highly qualified and follow the same curriculum, materials, and methodology. Therefore, regardless of a teacher change, students will progress through the program in an equally effective way. Additionally, students have ongoing access to our online learning platform for further practice and support. No refunds will be issued due to a change of teacher.
  • Class duration: Each class have a duration of 90 minutes for classes of 5 students and more. 
  • Group Classes Require a Minimum of 5 Students:

The group class starting date will be postponed if we have less than 5 students registered and students are eligible to select one of the following options:

 Receive a refund for any unused classes
– Unused credit to use towards private classes

– Postpone their French classes to a later date

  • Statutory Holidays: On statutory holidays, no live classes will be conducted. Instead, students will be offered to allocate this time to self-study through our online platform, which includes specific lessons and homework aimed at reinforcing their learning. The teacher will address any questions related to these assignments in the next class session.
 
  • Christmas Holidays : Learn French will be closed during the end-of-year celebrations.
    – School closure: From December 24, until January 1 (both inclusive).
    – Private classes: May be rescheduled directly with your French teacher.
    – Group classes: Will resume on January 2nd. 

2. Private Classes Terms and Conditions

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy:



By enrolling in our Private classes, you agree to these terms and conditions. We are committed to providing a personalized and flexible learning experience

  • Private classes are Non-refundable
  • Advance Notice: Students may reschedule classes at no additional cost if they provide at least 24 hours’ notice or one (1) business day, excluding weekends and national holidays. This can be done:


– once for a package of 8 classes

– up to 2 times for a package of 12+ classes.

  • Late Cancellations: Any class canceled or postponed within 24 hours of its scheduled time, or after the scheduled time on Friday for a Monday class, will be treated as a ‘late cancellation’ and will be charged in full.
  • Validity Period:


– All private classes purchased must be redeemed within 4 months of the purchase date for package of 10 classes and less.

– All private classes purchased must be redeemed within 6 months of the purchase date for package of 11 up to 20 classes.
– All private classes purchased must be redeemed within 12 months of the purchase date for package of 21 classes and more.

3. Payment and Charges:

Payment Due:

  • All course fees must be paid before the commencement of the course. Payment confirms your enrollment in the class

E-Transfer Payments:

  • Students may be offered the option to pay via e-transfer. By choosing this method of payment, students agree to and accept the terms and conditions provided on our website, as well as those communicated in the email confirming the payment.

    These terms and conditions are binding upon the student from the moment the e-transfer is initiated. It is the student’s responsibility to review these terms and conditions before completing the payment. Once payment is made via e-transfer, our terms and conditions apply.

Installment Payments :

  • By enrolling in an installment plan, you secure your place in the course for its full duration. Enrollment under an installment plan is final and subject to these Terms & Conditions.
  • By enrolling, you authorize automatic monthly payments beginning on the date of enrollment. Payments will be charged on a recurring monthly basis using the payment method provided at checkout, according to the installment plan you selected
 
Installment plans offer special pricing benefits when completed as scheduled: 
  • 12-month plan: Final installment is waived.
  • 6-month and 3-month plans: Final installment is discounted.
 
By enrolling, you agree to complete all payments under the plan you select. Installment plans are payment arrangements for the full tuition and are not month-to-month subscriptions.
 
Non-refundable policy :

  • All payments made under the installment plan are non-refundable.  
 
 Failed payments : 

  • Students who opt to pay by installments are responsible for ensuring that all payments are processed successfully and on time. In the event of a failed or denied payment, the student must rectify the payment within 5 business days. 
  • If the student stops making payments and does not rectify their payments within 5 business days, their enrollment will be immediately canceled, and no refund will be provided for any previous payments made. 
  • If an installment plan is discontinued, enrollment is canceled, access to the course and platform is removed, and any installment-related discounts or waived payments are forfeited. If you re-enroll in the future, you will not be eligible for prior discounts. 

 

How to Rectify or Update a Payment :

Students can resolve a failed or missed installment payment by following one of these options:

  • Option 1 (E-transfer): Send their payment via e-transfer to [email protected]
  • Option 2 (Online Account): Log in to their account at learnfrenchinvancouver.com/my-account or learnfrenchcanada.com/my-account using the email and password they purchased the course with.

    • If you’ve forgotten your password, click “Lost your password?” on the login page to reset it.

    • Once logged in, go to Orders in the left-hand menu, find the order marked Pending Payment, and click Pay to complete the payment online.

    • To update or change the card used for future installments, go to Payment Methods in the left-hand menu, click Add Payment Method, and enter the new card details. You may also delete an old payment method or set a new one as default.

 
Request to Cancel Future Installment Payments
 
  • Students may request to discontinue an installment plan by submitting a written request at least three (3) weeks before the next scheduled payment to [email protected].
  • All payments already processed remain non-refundable. 
 

Online Platform Access:

  • Upon registration, students receive complimentary access to our online platform for 1 year as part of their enrollment.
  • Access to the platform is conditional upon students remaining enrolled and up to date with their payments.
  • If a student decides to stop their installment plan, cancels their enrollment, or falls behind on payments, access to the online platform will be removed.

4. In-Person Classes in Vancouver:

Classroom Location and Accessibility (Vancouver location):

  • Venue: Classes are conducted in the meeting room of L’Atelier, a co-working space situated in Gastown.
  • Meeting Room Location: The meeting room is on the 3rd floor, and please note there is no elevator access to this level.
  • Entrance: The entrance to L’Atelier is located to the right of the yellow DRESSEW shop. Dial #400 or 01096 to access the buidling. 
 
Use of L’Atelier & Arrival Time 
  • Our classes take place inside L’Atelier coworking space, which is shared with other professionals.
  • Students agree to wait in the designated waiting area at the entrance if they arrive before their class time and to not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their class.
  • While waiting for their class, students must be mindful that others are working and agree to respect their quiet and comfort at all times. 
 

5. Media use for Marketing

Use of Class Media for Marketing and Website

  • Content Consent for Media Use: By enrolling in our Group and Private classes, you grant ‘Learn French’ the right to use any photographs, videos, or other media taken during classes for marketing, promotional, and website content purposes.
  • Scope of Use: This media may be used in publications, print ads, digital platforms, and other promotional materials created by or for ‘Learn French’. The content may be used without limitation in terms of time or geographic region.
  • Respecting Privacy and Rights: We are committed to respecting your privacy. At any time, participants may request that their image or specific media not be used or removed, and we will endeavor to honor such requests promptly. This does not apply to group images or recordings where individual identification is difficult.
  • No Compensation for Media Use: Participants acknowledge that they will not receive any financial compensation for the use of images or recordings, now or in the future.
  • Opting Out: If you do not wish your image or any media featuring you to be used, please inform us in writing before the commencement of the course. We will respect your decision and ensure that your media is not used for our external communications.
  • Child Safety: In the case of minors, consent must be given by a parent or guardian. We take the safety and privacy of minors very seriously and will only use images or videos of minors with explicit consent.

6. Student Admissions:

Admission and Enrollment

Rights
- ‘Learn French’ reserves the right to review all student applications comprehensively and refuse admission to any applicant based on non-compliance with our admission criteria or if it is deemed in the best interest of our educational community. This ensures that all students align with the educational goals and conduct standards of our language programs.

Adjustments to Class Schedules
We reserve the right to update the schedule for our group classes and reschedule private classes as necessary to accommodate teaching requirements, availability, or unforeseen circumstances. We aim to notify students of any changes as early as possible and provide alternatives to ensure continuity in learning

Academic and Permit Limitations
Please be advised that ‘Learn French’ does not provide student permits or conduct official language examinations. Our courses are designed for personal and professional development in the French language and are not accredited by educational authorities for formal academic or immigration qualifications. Students aiming to use their French language studies for official purposes should consider this before enrolling.

Study Permit

Please note that we are not a designated language institution and therefore do not issue study permits. Our courses do not require a study permit to enroll. We welcome students from all around the world to join our online classes, regardless of their location or immigration status.

For in-person classes in Vancouver, students must be legally residing in Canada (for example with a visitor record, work permit, or another valid status).

7. Special Events: Promo Codes and Free Classes

This Terms and Conditions applies to promo codes and offers given during our events. 

Promo Code :

  • Valid for future purchases only and cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases.
  • One-time use only, valid for one student and one product.
  • Non-transferable to other students and cannot be combined with other offers.
