Your data, protected

Privacy Policy

At Learn French Canada, we are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What Personal Information We Collect

We may collect personal information such as:

  • Your name, email address, and contact details
  • Payment information
  • Language level, goals, and feedback (for educational purposes)
  • If you take our free French test, your answers, your results and any feedback you leave, which we keep with the email you give us so our team can recommend the right class (a voice recording, if you make one, is analyzed and never kept)
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide when you register, communicate with us, or use our services

2. Why We Collect Your Information

We collect your information to:

  • Provide and manage our educational services
  • Communicate with you about your classes, schedules, and updates
  • Process payments and issue receipts
  • Improve our offerings and customer experience
  • Meet legal and regulatory requirements

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, educational platforms, our customer relationship tool GoHighLevel, our website analytics provider Mixpanel, and, if you accept marketing cookies, our advertising platforms Google, Meta and OpenAI) who assist us in delivering our services, provided they also comply with applicable privacy laws.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our websites use cookies and similar technologies: small pieces of information that your browser stores for us. We use three kinds:

  • Needed cookies make the site work: checkout and payment, including fraud protection (Stripe), signing in to our student, teacher and partner areas, and remembering your choices, such as your city, the partner who referred you, and your cookie choice. These are always on.
  • Analytics cookies, only if you accept them, help us see how people use our site (Mixpanel), so we can improve it.
  • Marketing cookies, only if you accept them, remember which ad or link brought you to us, so we can see which campaigns work. This information is saved with your contact details in our customer relationship tool (GoHighLevel). They also tell our advertising platforms (Google, Meta and OpenAI) when you sign up or enroll after seeing one of our ads, with the amount paid and your email and phone number in a coded form (a hash) that lets each platform match the purchase to its own ad, so we only keep paying for ads that work. If you do not accept marketing cookies, none of this is sent.

Separately, and without any cookie, we count how many times each page of our websites is viewed per day, with the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the kind of source (for example a search engine or a social network). These are totals only: we do not store your IP address or any identifier with them, so they cannot be linked to you.

Some pages show content from other companies: our booking calendar and forms (GoHighLevel), videos (YouTube) and maps (Google Maps). These companies may set their own cookies when that content loads. Our booking calendar loads on the page so you can always see the available dates, whatever your cookie choice; videos only load when you press play.

You can accept, refuse or change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Refusing does not stop you from using our site or enrolling in a course.

6. How We Protect Your Information

We use physical, organizational, and technological safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access.

7. Access and Correction

You have the right to request access to your personal information, or to request a correction if it is inaccurate. We will respond within the legal time frame (typically 30 days).

8. Contact Us

If you have questions, requests, or concerns about your personal information or this policy, please get in touch with us by filling out the form on our Contact Us Page, addressed to:
